Alejandro de Tomaso was born in Argentina in 1928 and moved to Italy in 1955. He built some Formula 1 cars in 1961 and his first road car, the Vallelunga in 1965. In 1967 he bought GHIA, the coachbuilders. In 1969 the Ford V8 engine Mangusta appeared leading to strong connections with the Ford Motor Company, its successor the Pantera was developed from this car and was announced in 1971.

These cars were distributed in America through selected Lincoln / Mercury dealers, however the association with Ford ended in 1974. De Tomaso bought control of Maserati from Citroen in 1976 and also acquired the Benelli and Moto Guzzi motorcycle firms and also Innocenti that had manufacturing rights to the Mini-Minor at that time. Eventually he sold Maserati to Fiat in 1990. A total of c10,000 Panteras were made over a long production run.

This example is described as in good mechanical condition with a new interior. It would benefit from attention to the body and paintwork plus some minor re-commissioning. To be sold strictly as viewed.
