This painting is sold with a copy of Rex Battarbee, Modern Australian Aboriginal Art, Sydney and London: Angus and Robertson, 1951, inscribed with a dedication by Fred and Phyllis Derrick to Ambassador and Mrs Jarman and containing an early newspaper article about Albert Namatjira’s life and black and white photographs of Alice Springs and the surrounding area. Jarman was the US Ambassador to Australia during the Truman administration between 1949 and 1953.
