Provenance:  
Reputedly collected in the early 20th century in Townsville where it was said to have been obtained from islanders in a football team from Mt Isa  
Private collection

Note that on the handle of this club there is an early inscription which reads 'Elizia Pkapani' which may be the name of an inhabitant of the Torres Strait.                                                  
 
There is another example of this type of club of the same form, from a later period in the collection of the Australian Museum, Sydney.
