the silvered dial with an Arabic numeral minute ring enclosing subsidiary seconds and Roman numeral hour chapter rings, with a deadbeat escapement, maintaining power and beat adjustment to the crutch, mercury compensating pendulum and a single brass weight, above a scroll carved grape and vine crest, housed within a domed rectangular mahogany case with glazed access doors to the top and glazed panels to the sides and front of the trunk, above a plinth base, the dial signed 'Baynes, London.'

Condition Report
Please note: the mercury contained within the pendulum must be removed by a qualified specialist prior to transport, which is the responsibility of the buyer. The clock has been maintained by a horologist in Brisbane; the movement is in good, functioning order, however it is recommended that the clock is professionally serviced and timed on purchase. The mercury is dirty and replacement is recommended. The clock is accompanied by a case key and a winder. Overall surface grime and ecretions, marks and wear to the case; some veneer losses, particularly to top side of the domed top, where there is an area of lifting and loss to the veneer to the back edge. Surface rust to the clock hands. One of the glazed inspection hatches in the domed top of the case is jammed and cannot be opened.
