Condition Report

Overall condition good; there are very fine hairlines to the ivory throughout, consistent with age, some of them darkened. Very slight movement to the left hand leg, however it remains securely attached. There appears to be a small dab of gilding below the figure's left breast; minor isolated chips to the marble base; minor wear to the gilding; clear signature and foundry marks. Gentle surface wear consistent with age; the piece would benefit from a gentle clean by a conservator.

Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's Australia is merely a subjective, qualified opinion. Prospective buyers should also refer to any Saleroom Notices regarding this sale.
