each of square form with hinged lid opening to a shallow compartment above double doors, the interior with a pair of low drawers, the top, rear, front and sides carved with dragon and lingzhi fungus medallions within foliate scrolls at the corners, the top bordered with a band of lappets, supported on a fitted stand with short cabriole legs joined by a shaped apron and terminating in ruyi-shaped feet above a flat cross stretcher, the hardwood resembling jichimu

Condition Report

Both chests with minor shrinkage crack and gaps in joins infilled with wax. Some very small chips along the upper edges of the sides of the base and cover. One chest with pins missing from the back hinges and the interior of the cover with a replacement strap along the back.Otherwise generally good condition.
